When to book restaurants and what changes with a Disney Hotel stay

Booking lead time depends on your stay and restaurant. Separate the general window, access with a confirmed Disney Hotel stay and the rules for specific experiences.

If you are not staying at a Disney Hotel

Use the two-month window on Disney’s dining page as your reference. Check each restaurant calendar for your date. Do not turn two months into a fixed number of days or assume midnight release.

Many Character meals can be booked without a hotel stay, subject to availability and access rules. A Partner hotel or a hotel near the parks does not automatically provide Disney Hotel early booking.

02

If your Disney stay is already confirmed

The dining page invites booking from Disney Hotel confirmation; the dietary page specifies up to 12 months for hotel Guests. Link the stay to your official account or app when required and check the dates of your trip.

The Character Dining page warns that some restaurants open bookings after stay confirmation. If no calendar appears, check stay linking and return later. Contact Disney or your stay provider if the booking is not recognised.

03

What the stay and Meal Plan do not include

A hotel or plan including Character Dining does not secure your chosen restaurant or time. Disney requires table bookings even when a plan covers the experience. Check voucher type, included meals, supplements and restrictions in your package conditions.

Hotel and Disney Village restaurants can be visited without park tickets, but individual experiences have rules. Royal Banquet lunch and dinner are open to all; La Table de Lumière dinner is for Disneyland Hotel residents. Staying at a different Disney Hotel does not meet that condition.

The official page announces a new Meal Plan range for stays from 1 April 2027. For trips from that date, check the conditions for your stay; do not automatically carry over names, vouchers or inclusions from the previous range.

04

Prioritise bookings around your itinerary

Start with Character experiences you really want, then meals that shape your day, and keep flexible alternatives. Before confirming, check the journey from your hotel and admission to the relevant park.

For dinner near your accommodation, compare its buffet menu with other options. Not all buffets include Characters: Downtown and Chuck Wagon have themed settings, but theming alone does not promise encounters.

Your questions answered

Must I wait until two months ahead if I have booked a Disney Hotel?

The official page says you can start from stay confirmation, according to available calendars. Link your stay and check each restaurant; not all times are guaranteed to open.

Does booking a hotel mean all my meals are paid for?

No. Check your package and whether you added a Meal Plan or experience. Voucher eligibility, payment for the meal and booking the table are separate matters.
